International Food Festival
Don't forget to attend this festival on Saturday, April 23, 2005.  
There are over 20 countries taking part in this event.  AASLV will be representing Assyria.
There will be enthnic food, drinks, music, dancing, and food demos.
Make sure to visit the Assyrian booth, and watch the Assyrian dance group at 6:15 PM
The event is sponcered by Clark County, and held at the County Goverment center, 500 S. Grand Centeral Parkway.

All picnics are held at Mt. Crest Park, Area "A".

This park is located at Durango and Lone Mountain

Directions: From the southwest part of town, take Fort Apache north (note that the name of the street would change to Rampart and then to Durango).  Once you pass Craig Road make a left turn on Red Coach Avenue. Area A would be at your right side where the volleyball court is located. You would need to turn right into the parking area before you get to the Area A.

If you are coming from other areas, you may want to take the 95 freeway north and exit Craig road going west. Turn right on Durango and take the first left on Red Coach Drive.  Area A would be at your right side were the volleyball court is located. You would need to turn right into the parking area before you get to the Area A.

There is no charge.  Donations to offset the cost of park fee and raise funds are appreciated. If you can help in preparing food to be sold at these event as a fund raising effort, please contact us.

Scholarship Program
   Two scholarships, $500 each per Calandar year
   For full time students living in Las Vegas
   Students must be enrolled in a local collage or attending last year of high school (would be applying for a local collage)
   Applicants to provide a letter describing their personal and academic goals, and attach an essay addressing any topic in Assyrian art, history, science, literature, politics, commerce, and sports at any period.
   Applicants to have their official transcript sent to directly to AASLV (see address below) from their respective collage or high school
   Scholarship deadline is 9/1/05 (one scholarship remaining)
   Applicants to include their name, address, date of birth, and phone number.  Applicants maybe contacted by a AASLV Board member for any possible question.
